The Colorado Convention Center is certainly an icon in Denver’s downtown landscape, and not just for the building that hosts an enormous variety of visitors for events throughout the year. Since it’s inception, it has also housed one of the state’s best collections of contemporary and western art by local artists. Over the last few years the center started populating various walls within the facility (of which there are many) with more works, some commissioned and others acquired directly from galleries that represent quality artists from within the state. Plus Gallery is proud to announce that represented artist Laura Krudener joins the prestigious group of talent with works acquired for the permanent collection at the Center. Her largest painting to date, the ten-foot wide by eight foot tall “Forever Colliding” was installed on February 25th, 2015 in a very prominent location towards the front of the building by the main entrance off of 14th street, and just a stone’s throw from the glorious “Blue Bear” that appears to be looking into the center. We are thrilled for Krudener to join the collection, her abstract paintings, using an assortment of techniques including poured paint on raw-canvas, are some of the most dynamic and unique from any artist within the state of Colorado as well as the country.
