2018 will be a “monumental” year in Plus Gallery’s 17 year history, with a pair of prominent community exhibitions featuring two of the gallery’s most collected artists slated to commence in the spring. Mike Whiting is scheduled to take on the entirety of Denver Botanic Gardens with his pixel-based outdoor sculpture works, a massive undertaking that’s been in development over the course of the past year. Xi Zhang will present a selection of his most recent large-scale paintings in a wonderful collaboration at ATC DEN in his first proper solo exhibition curated through Plus Gallery since 2014. Plus Gallery director Ivar Zeile is also curating three additional exhibitions that will materialize in some of Denver’s most exciting venues, both old and new, including a digital animation exhibition associated with SUPERNOVA Festival at Redline in the fall, and two new-media installations at the Denver Theatre District’s cool-as-all-getout project space UNDERSTUDY located at the Colorado Convention Center for late winter and early fall.
