Plus Gallery is set to roll out two exciting new exhibitions early in 2015, both collaborative ventures with community associates in an effort to maintain the presence of our strong pool of represented artists during our interim period. Our first endeavor commences on February 13th with Nick Musaelian’s debut solo exhibition “From Ass to Skunk,” a sweeping survey of the paintings of this Colorado-based artist. The exhibition will be on view at Abend Gallery, one of Denver’s established venues for contemporary representational art, through March 13th in a collaboration that shows the possibilities for positive experimentation within Denver’s thriving art community.

“From Ass to Skunk” will feature a wide-ranging survey of this unique painter’s output, with works from 2008 to present day including his Little Nietzsche series, Situations, Ass Festival, woodcuts, as well as Musaelian’s most recent portraits. The exhibition offers a deeper view than normal for an emerging artist, one that fully enhances the imaginative approach Musaelian has taken since committing himself to a career in art. The exhibition likewise magnifies the unique set of circumstances currently occurring in Denver’s exciting art community as well as Plus Gallery’s interim position within.  Mark your calendars now and plan on joining us on Friday, February 13th from 6-9pm for the opening reception of this unique collaboration.  Abend will also be exhibiting a selection of narrative paintings by their stable of artists in their auxiliary space to complement Musaelian’s works.
