Experimental music night returns tonight, Friday June 10th at 8:00 pm

+ gallery is extremely pleased to host our second experimental music performance of 2005 tonight, with the return of Jeph Jerman and the introduction of legendary performer Tim Barnes. It was exactly two years ago that + gallery (then Cordell Taylor Gallery) joined with Sounds Good Radio to present the year's most breathtaking performance amidst one of the galleries most challenging and noteworthy exhibitions. Renowned traveling artist Jeph Jerman delivered a minimalist display that is the virtual antithesis of current musical trends and DJ oriented styles that, though sonicly engaging, remove the artist from the physical act of creation. Utilizing a variety of carefully selected materials such as rocks, shells, driftwood, branches, seed pods, and pine cones, Jerman created a half-hours worth of acoustic sound that left the audience mesmerized. Jerman returns this Friday with internationally renowned artist Tim Barnes, who has performed with some of the greatest avant-garde musicians of the day, including John Zorn, Sonic Youth, Jim O'Rourke, and many others. We couldn't be more delighted to have the experimental music series return for a second outing in 2005 with such a grand collaboration. The performance will begin at 8:00 pm on Friday the 10th of June. We'll be asking for a $5 cover at the door to cover expenses and help support the continuation of this fantastic series.
