LAURI LYNNXE MURPHY RECEIVES MAJOR AWARD FROM WESTWORD

+ gallery artist Lauri Lynnxe Murphy was recognized for her innovation and leadership in the art community last week with a new "Mastermind Award" for visual arts from Westword. Though the award is new for the community, it sets a precedent that is much needed in the Denver, namely recognizing real creative achievers in the arts who are changing the cultural landscape. This timely award also delivers a generous paycheck, to the tune of $4,000! Those who know Lauri are aware of her status as a creative dynamo, standing out as an individual who puts every bit of her life into art, both personally as well as for the community. We congratulate Lauri and urge everyone to learn more about one of Denver's most consistent and thoughtful artists. Lauri currently has several works on view in the gallery collection, and is working towards an exhibition for the gallery at the end of this year. Our hats off to Lauri, as well as the Westword for implementing this generous program for achievers in the arts.
