OPENING RECEPTION TONIGHT, THURSDAY DEC. 7TH FOR + GALLERY INTERNS CURATED EXHIBITION AT OBJECT + THOUGHT

Tonight is the night, the second program in our unique collaboration with OBJECT + THOUGHT at 3559 Larimer Street which provides + gallery interns with an exceptional gallery space to mount an exhibition of their making. Current interns Kendall Wilson and Brandy Whalen will host an artist reception for "Collective Conscious: Denver's New American Paintings" along with the masterminds at Object + Thought tonight from 6 - 9pm. The exhibition they have curated brings together for the first time four prominent Denver galleries (+, Robischon, Walker Fine Arts, and Sandy Carson) and seven Denver talents whom were recently featured in the National publication New American Paintings. Colin Livingston, Dana Costello, Kate Petley, Lui Ferreyra, Quintin Gonzalez, Jim Colbert, and Eric Corrigan each will have works on display from their published series.         The New American Paintings publication is a prestigious juried exhibition-in-print, facilitating contact between artists and art enthusiasts. "Collective Conscious" brings together seven of Denver’s most celebrated artists that without the common thread of the New American Paintings publication would not be shown under the same track lighting. Although, all the work varies in style and content, visually speaking the exhibition is strangely fantastic. From Dana Costello’s dreamscapes to Jim Colbert’s photo quality landscapes, the exhibition forms a commentary in which hints of similarities amalgamate all seven artists. This event is one not to be missed; with great art, tasty treats and DJ Brett Fox mixing beats, the + gallery interns hope to see you there at 6 this evening!
