+ gallery winds down summer, prepares for fall
Summer is almost officially over for us here at + gallery, we thought we'd throw one more message out to you to sign off for the last two weeks of august, mention a few news bits that should be of interest to you, and present a "focus on film" that's been brewing for a few weeks now. The gallery officially closes for the last two weeks of August, so this Friday August 18th is the last chance to view our current exhibition "In the Beginning" featuring Jack B. Weil and the Young Guns. Many have come out to see this exhibition, one that stands slightly outside our norm but presents a community profile that is far ranging and immensely engaging. Do come visit if you can, otherwise we'll be back with a season opening show that stands to be one of the top exhibitions ever presented at the gallery......we'll have a web update towards the end of august and of course will be coming back at you soon here. Till then, enjoy the rest of summer!
SUE COE EXHIBITION CURRENTLY ON VIEW AT EMMANUEL GALLERY
We can't recommend more highly the current exhibition at the Emmanuel Gallery on the Auroria Campus, as it features the legendary artist Sue Coe with recent works. "Sheep of Fools" is an extremely timely commentary on society and its woes. Though constructed in a timeless style that is signature Coe, it's easy to see why this brilliant, disturbing work is so relevant right now, do yourself a favor and go out of your way to pay a visit. For more information, go to www.emmanuelgallery.org or call 303-556-8337.
LAST CHANCE TO SEE ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIENNIAL FEATURING MARTINEZ AND YUST
This weekend is the grand finale for the Rocky Mountain Biennial up in Fort Collins at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition features two of + gallery's finest, Frank T. Martinez and Dave Yust, so if you are up for a weekend drive, stop in to see this terrific showcase of regional contemporary art.
