+ GALLERY AND FIRST FRIDAY HOLD SPECIAL TREAT FOR DENVER ART PATRONS

It's not like we wouldn't rather just take one first friday off during the year, it is August after all, but since this weekend also coincides with the DADA introductions open house, and also because we've managed to have such wonderful, enthusiastic and smart interns on board this summer, we've decided that this Friday, August 4th will be another rousing night to visit and engage with art on a totally different level. How so may you ask? Well, with the introduction of a new project space in a venue that is run by some of the coolest people in town.......our friends at Studio 3559 on Larimer Street approached us a while back with a great idea, one that turns the front of their creative studio space into a collaborative venture with + gallery interns curating art exhibitions and other various projects to be determined. The inaugural event for the idea and the space is already on view in the exhibition "+ gallery's unentitleds" which commenced last thursday to coincide with our 5 year anniversary. Kate and Sarah have put together a group show that focuses on various low key, experimental, and procedural efforts by + gallery artists that the public (and even Ivar) rarely get to see. Said artistâs include Bruce Price, Tsehai Johnson, Jeff Strahl, Frank T. Martinez, Doug Mielnicki, Colin Livingston, Lauri Lynnxe Murphy and Ethan Jantzer, all who have stepped forward to participate in this unique endeavor. Has there ever been another show like this in Denver before? Of course not, which is why you should come check it out and one day say "I saw those cool Doug Mielnicki drawings before anybody" or "man that Ethan Jantzer's got some weird shit going on in his head." We invite you all to come out this Friday August 4th from 6 to 9pm to meet the minds behind the exhibition, Kate and Sarah as well as the artists, for a reception to celebrate the ãunentitledsäat Studio 3559. Studio 3559 is located at 3559 N. Larimer in Denver. It's not so far from plus, just head north on Market Street from downtown, turn right on 36th and then right on Larimer. Studio 3559 is across from a parking lot reserved for its visitors.
