BMOCA Panel Discussion features Tsehai Johnson, Ivar Zeile and others
The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art will host the Panel Discussion "Art Boundaries" tonight, Wednesday evening December 7th at 7pm as part of their Artist Salon Series. Recent challenges to freedom of expression in the State of Colorado have prompted a consideration of the nature of contemporary art and the role of challenging work within a public context. This panel will explore free expression in the arts in Colorado and how this interfaces with the public and mass-media. The panel for the evening includes Tsehai Johnson, who currently has work on view at the museum and was the focus of state funding controversy this summer, Ivar Zeile, owner of + gallery where Johnson is represented , art historian and arts writer Dinah Zeiger, Judson Webb, actor and director in Theatre 13 and moderator Jennifer Heath. The evening is guaranteed to be a lively, timely and provocative discussion about art and its boundaries. It is free and open to the public.
